Justfares will be there to support Team: Just A Steppe Away – check out the trailer here

Come join us for our first Mongol Rally fundraiser! You will get to see the official Mongol Rally movie, have some laughs, drink some drinks, and support us in our effort to raise funds for Mercy Corps, and survive the rally.

Tickets are available thru Brown Paper Tickets here:
http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/101847

What is the movie about, you might ask? Well, here it is:

One stand-up comic, no planning, bugger all money, 10,000 miles, no car… Adventurism at its very best! Every summer hundreds of brave teams thunder over mountain ranges and across open steppe in pursuit of glorious mayhem. Now you can enjoy the epic tale of stand up comic Buddy taking the legendary rally to a whole new level of stupidity. With no car and no lift arranged out of London, he hitchhikes, crawls, begs and scrapes his way to Mongolia entertaining the teams and locals all the way.

Bring your extra cash as we’ll be accepting trip donations and Mercy Corp will be in attendance to accept charity donations and discuss the Mongolian charity programs directly aided by this fundraiser. Help us give to a great cause and recognize our amazing sponsors who are helping us on this journey of a lifetime.

Justfares to support 2010 Mongol Rally Team – “Just A Steppe Away” as they attempt to accomplish the insane, nutty and just plain difficult task of driving from London to Mongolia in a 1.2 liter car.

Solving difficult air travel solutions is easy for us at Justfares.com. We’ve been sending people around the world, to Nepal, Timbuktu and everywhere in between since 1987. Flying people to these places is easy, assisting them to drive there is a whole other bag of worms. Enter Justin Herx, Kaine Robertson and Christine Estrada the three friends are bravely throwing their hat in the proverbial ring of fire to see if they can pull this journey off. It wont be easy but when it comes to assisting with visas, emergencies and flights home from Mongolia or China Justfares will be there for them.

What is the Mongol Rally?

They’ll drive a third of the way around the earth, from Europe to Mongolia through a bunch of countries most people haven’t heard of in a 1 litre car wholly unsuitable for the trip. They’ll be starting from London in July 2010 and probably bumping into teams from Spain and Italy along the way. They’re hoping to make it to the finish in the Mongolian capital of Ulaan Baatar in around four to six weeks, where They’ll then donate their vehicle to charity and have massive celebrations. The team will be traveling between about 8 and 10,000 miles depending on the route chosen.

What happens to them between the start, the deserts, mountains, bandits and wilderness is anyone’s guess. Just over half the teams make the finish line in one piece. If nothing goes wrong, then everything has gone wrong. They have no support and no guarantee of arrival at the finish line. Nor do they have guarantee of safety, but of course, that is what makes it an adventure.

“Yeah, we’re all a little crazy. But sounds damn fun doesn’t it???” said Justin Herx.

DID YOU KNOW?

Korean Air has served more than 200 million bowls of Bibimbap since it started serving the dish in 1997.
IATA says Korean Air’s cargo operation has been the world’s #1 for five consecutive years.

CODESHARE EXPANDED
WITH ALASKA

Pacific Northwest travelers will have better access to Asia because of an expanded partnership between Alaska Airlines and Korean Air. The partnership puts more destinations on Korean Air’s route map through three of the airline’s 10 US gateways: Seattle, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The partnership also puts new destinations on Alaska’s map. Korean Air will serve most of Alaska Airlines passengers through Seattle,  says John Jackson, Korean Air’s director of sales and marketing for the Americas. But Los Angeles and San Francisco passengers will have more options as well.
